5 WA Experiences to try this Holiday Season

So, the borders aren’t exactly open yet, but luckily for us in WA, we get to live in one of the most beautiful and spacious states in Australia. Though WA may strike most as a quiet and unassuming place to be, it is a hidden gem. It’s home to countless spots of breathtaking beauty, where you can eat and drink the finest meals, swim in the clearest waters with beautiful marine life and immerse yourself in the beauty of the outdoors. With that being said, here are five WA experiences you can treat your family to this holiday season.

1. Book distillery tours with Illegal Tender Rum Co.

Even if the thought of touring through Australian rum distilleries has never crossed your mind, we can guarantee that it is a memorable experience that everyone will enjoy. There is so much more than meets the eye with most things, especially in creating things at Illegal Tender Rum Co. They will take you through the facility, where you’ll hear firsthand how they handcraft their rum and spirits. Make a day of it and take in the beauty of the place, with complimentary samples of their finest rums and spirits to enjoy in their gorgeous cellar door area. Who better to share their passion and love for making rums and spirits than yours truly?

Due to alcohol laws, we do not recommend bringing children on these tours. However, there is an animal farm where kids can go and explore, so there’s something for everyone.

3.  Take a daytrip to Rottnest Island

Everyone has to visit Rottnest Island at least once in their life. A stunning island just 19 kilometres from Perth, this place will truly feel like a holiday overseas. Surrounded by sparkling clear waters, spend the day swimming, snorkelling and fishing. Cycle through the island and visit the 20 different bays of white-sand beaches to relax at. You’ll be delighted to see the famous quokkas wandering around the island too. Rottnest could not be more perfect for summer.

Book a ferry trip to get yourself to this dreamy island. Prices and availability vary depending on the type of trip and if you wish to include an experience with it.

Rottnest offers island tours where you can explore its history and nature, activities such as hiring waterbikes and inflatables, shopping and spa services.

The beauty of the island is that you can make it as packed and involved or as relaxing and chilled out as you wish. The world is certainly your oyster.
